Agroguard is an advanced crop-protection netting specifically designed as an excellent alternative to non-woven fabrics and plastic films. It has been extensively tested on a large scale and has proven its qualities and advantages both as a stand alone crop cover, and in conjunction with non-woven fabrics.

Agroguard is made from woven and knotted plastic, this revolutionary design ensures the weave will not alter no matter how many times it is used.

Agroguard creates as ideal micro-climate; allowing water and fresh air to permeate through, providing light shade (14%) from direct sunlight, and retaining radiant heat resulting in higher night-time temperatures and therefore some frost protection.

Agroguard qualities:

• Extremely strong, doesn’t tear. (38 g/m2)
• Long lasting, 5-6 year life expectancy not unusual
• Environmentally friendly (due to long life expectancy, no annual waste as with fleece and plastic)
• UV – stabilised, will not degrade in sunlight
• More even growth and maturity of crop
• Higher percentage of Class 1 produce
• Low wind sensitivity
• No excess water retention on the fabric surface, no puddles or run-off problems.
• Easy to remove and move, even after rain.

Agroguard has many applications and has been used successfully in the following ways:

• Covering of early planted crops in the spring, such as brassicas, potatoes and cut flowers (advance cropping)
• Covering of frost sensitive plants
• Winter protection of flower bulbs, nursery stock, brassicas, calabrese and many other crops
• Seed bed protection
• Protection form heavy rain, hail and wind
• Protection from pigeons, rabbits, hares and deer
• Protection from most insects

Agroguard is available in a range of widths and lengths. Special Fix-Pins are available to quickly secure the material, but Agroguard can also be trenched in or secured with bags.
